Further information on cycle touring
There are unlimited resources available to assist those interested in cycle touring e.g. books, webpages, blogs, shops, presentations and communities.
I have listed below three sources that I have found invaluable when cycling and are relevant on a global scale.
- "The travelling two" is an excellent source for getting information on gear, resources, journeys and general advice. Friedel & Andrew who developed the site have recently had a baby and have become a great source of advice when cycling with a child.
- "Crazy guy on a bike" is a well established site with over 10,000 journals available. Simply search your query and you will be presented with a number of people's thoughts and comments on that topic.
- "Warmshowers.org" is a community based website for cycletourers. It not only acts as a message board for cyclists to share advice and tips but it also opens accomodation options around the world for cycle tourers. This accommodation is free which demonstates the community spirit amongst the site members and also provides cyclists with a significant economic saving when travelling.
